BMW reviewed their current engines for the X6 and decided there was room for improvement. This means every single 6-cil will get a major upgrade in 2011. One of them is the xDrive40d
The biggest news is the xDrive40d will replace the xDrive35d. An additional 20 bhp and a 10% lower fuel consumption are key here.
The 8-step automatic gearbox will help to make the X6 sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6,5 seconds and give it an average fuel consumption of 7,5 liters.
Also the xDrive30d will get a minor power upgrade. From 235 to 245 bhp.
The xDrive35i will get a single turbo engine just like the 135i and the 335i.
BMW hasn’t made the official announcement yet but we can rest asure these modifications will also be transfered to the X5 later on this year.
