Rumor has it that Chris Bangle, the man who introduced the E60 5-series, usually not best friends with oldskool BMW fanboys, will return to Fiat. Several Italian media are claiming it will happen very soon. He already was working for Fiat in 1985 but in 1991 he started over at BMW. Back to the roots?
Last week BMW annouced that they are leaving Formula 1 next season. A dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf, reported that they refused an offer from Peter Sauber.
In Q2 of 2009 BMW made 121 million EUR profit. That’s a whopping 76% lower than last year. In the same period last year the profit was still 507 million EUR. Due to the financial crisis bmw is suffering under decreasing sales in the luxury segment.
“Despite some minor positive signals, there is still no real recovery in sight” according to Norbert Reithofer.
